WHAT IS GO 2010?
GO 2010 is how Team Church is giving back to the community in 2010.
Our church body has always graciously and abundantly donated funds and goods to various community organizations and causes - and we will continue to give this year... but in a new way!
Just as Christians are directed to TITHE 10% of their income to the local church, Team Church also TITHES 10% of it's received donations back into local and global missions.
In past years, the Team Church tithe has gone towards select local and overseas mission organizations and church plants. This year, our monthly tithe will be allocated to several different missions projects and numerous community organizations. Read on below to see the different places we will give to this year and how you can be involved!
How Does This Affect You?
Simple... the more you give to Team Church, the more we are able to give back!
In 2010, we challenge every Christian and member of Team Church to CONSISTENTLY TITHE as we are directed in the Bible. (click here to see what the Bible says about giving). As you faithfully give to Team Church, we are able to have a larger impact on our community.
So here's how it works: You TITHE to the church, and then Team Church will distribute its 10% TITHE amongst various organizations and causes. What a great way for individuals and Team Church to become stewards of what God has blessed us with!
Sounds Great, How Do I Give?
There are several ways you can give to Team Church. Click here to learn more.
What is a TITHE?
A TITHE means 10 percent, and the Bible tells us that we are "bring the whole tithe into the storehouse" (Malachi 3:8-10). To do otherwise meant that God was being "robbed". Jesus told his followers that the TITHE was not to be neglected.
At Team Church, we believe that a TITHE of 10% of one's income is the starting point for giving, and when the first 10% a person's income is reserved first for the Lord, the remaining 90% is to be spent wisely and enjoyed.
In addition to a TITHE, there may be times where a person is prompted to give beyond the 10%. That is considered an OFFERING. The amount one gives in an offering is up to the person and how they feel the Holy Spirit is speaking to them.
I Already Tithe... But I Want to do More!
Great! We need volunteers to help organize and coordinate the collection and distribution of goods to the various organizations we will support. If you would like to know more about getting involved in this way, email Kristine Wood at kkwood@windstream.net.
