During the trip in Jamaica, we will assist with building 1-2 houses for needy families. We will also be working in the community thrift shop, visiting the infirmary, helping in schools, and interacting with Jamaicans through other serving opportunities and nightly community social time. You may get dirty and be tired throughout the week, but you will be making a difference and you will leave having made great relationships with Jamaicans!
If you participate in fundraising, we can usually help you raise 50% - 80% of your cost! The total cost of the trip is $1,550. The cost includes airfare, food, lodging, ground transportation, construction supplies for building houses, 1 night at a resort hotel in Ocho Rios, wages for Jamaican workers
For the Jamaica trip students at least 16 years old may attend without parental supervision as a part of our student ministry. Students 13-15 years old may attend but must be accompanied by a parent. 11-12 year olds can come with a parent after approved through an interview process.
For Jamaica all participants will need to attend training and preparation meetings during the months prior to departure. These meetings will provide you with all the information necessary to help you prepare for the trip and the resources to have the largest impact possible while in Jamaica. The meeting schedule will be announced after the team is formed.
