How can a goat change a life? Each year, Pursuit holds a fundraiser called the Holy Goat Awards. Teens dress up and have dinner together to raise money to purchase goats for families in Jamaica. Then in the spring, a Pursuit team travels to Jamaica to give the goats to families in need.

We work with Pastor Clinton and Grace Community Fellowship who identify families who could benefit from receiving a goat. A few years ago, Lascells and Patsy were one of the first families who received a goat. They had been together for a while before he proposed to her at church on Valentine’s Day. Soon after they got married, they received what they considered a wonderful wedding gift: a goat from Team Church.

They cared for the goat and it soon multiplied. Grateful for what they had received, they wanted to give back, so they donated one of the kids to share with another family.

What a story of love and generosity! Not only do goats change lives by providing food, but they are also an opportunity to show God’s love to our neighbors in need.

A place to gather women and share a simple meal and dive deep with people over real stories and Christ centered conversations. A time for a whole lot of laughter – and maybe a few tears – but time spent that leaves us with glad hearts. Full hearts. Grateful hearts.

This is an opportunity to continue our mission of "Doing Life Together."

Ladies, you are invited to join the IF:Table on Saturday, March 25 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. During our time together, we will share a simple meal, discuss questions and practice Acts 2:42:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Your host will prepare a meal. We ask you contribute $5 to help cover the costs.

We hope you will sit down and join the IF:Table. And invite your friends!

What does it mean to live all out for God? Especially in the midst of busy lives, how do we find the time to connect more fully with Him and live more completely for Him?

At IF:Gathering 2017, we’ll look at one of the most influential generations that have ever lived — the early church. The way God moved through them was simple and pure. We believe they are the model we need right now. Our dream is that we would experience the power of God as He does big things through simple acts of faith. That we live unified, surrendered to God, not just in our minds and in our theology, but also in our daily lives. Our hope is that we would participate with the Spirit of God and see Him go forth in our generation in a most powerful way.

Make time for this event and invite your friends to come along. Register today:

Week 3

Choose to change you.

Admit it: there’s something satisfying about watching someone else’s cringe-worthy moment. When a celebrity face plants on stage at a concert or someone slips up and says something stupid on TV, we’re all watching and re-watching those moments for a good laugh (thanks, Internet). Those kinds of laughs seem harmless; after all, we don’t even know those people! But if we’re being honest, we could all probably say we’ve done the same thing to people we actually do know—our friends, our family, the people at school we don’t necessarily like. Maybe we didn’t mean to at first, but sometimes we move from teasing and mocking what someone did to teasing and mocking who someone is. That’s shaming other people and, whether we want to admit it or not, we’re all guilty of it. But is that really the way we want to live? Is that really how we want to make other people feel? One thing’s for sure: it’s definitely not the way God wants us to live! But rather than just tell us what He doesn’t want us to do, Jesus takes it a step further and gives us instructions on exactly what He wants us to do when it comes to the way we treat other people. And if we can apply it to our own lives, we’ll find that while we may not be able to change what other people do, we can definitely change the way we treat them.

Hey Parents!

- This Wednesday, November 16th, is the last regular Pursuit of 2016.

- Wednesday, December 7th will be our first annual "Not Silent Night." This is a night of worship for all Pursuit students from 7pm-8:30pm. The student café will not be open.

- Please notify AJ by December 4th if you will be donating any items or money for the Holy Goat Award raffles.

We wanted to be the fun parents. And to create memories. I wanted us to be able to look fondly back on weekends like this and hear my kids say things like, “Thank you!” “That was awesome!” I didn’t want us to be grumpy and short with each other. But with so much “fun” planned, we started running on less and less, our fuses getting shorter and shorter until it didn’t matter what we were doing. We were too exhausted to enjoy it.

And that’s when it hit me. When it comes to making memories, my kids are cataloguing more than the experience itself. They are taking note of the emotions that come along with them.
