Parents…your days are numbered!  No, that’s not a threat…it just is.  We know this to be true because there has never been a human being to live forever.  No one exists on our planet that has cheated death.  Everyone who has ever been born, will one day die.  Now I know that may sound morbid or disturbing...but the fact of the matter is our days are numbered.

Job responds to God in Job 14:5 with this very truth.

“You have decided the length our lives, You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.”

Our days are numbered.  Daunting when you think about it.  When faced with death, people often create a “bucket list.”  This is comprised of things they want to do before the “kick” the proverbial bucket.  Tim McGraw captures this in his song “Live Like You Were Dying.”  When faced with the question of his mortality and limited time, he sings, “I went skydiving, I went rocky mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds, on a bull named Fu-Manchu, and I loved deeper, I spoke sweeter…and it goes on to give us a glimpse of someone who doesn’t want to “miss it!”

If our very own mortal days are numbered, then as parents, the days we have to influence and disciple our kids to grow in their faith with God is numbered.  At Team Church we have structured our family ministries to support and partner with you as the primary spiritual leader.  Our preschool, elementary and student environments are designed to start a spiritual discussion that we hand off to you to carry through their week.  Discipleship is not just a Sunday morning event, it is a life orientation around Jesus Christ and His teachings.  Hearing a Bible story on Sunday morning is good…but that is just the starting line. Taking that story and the teaching into the rest of the week with parents leading those discussions is better! [ 2 > 1 + 1 ]
